FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – Municipal officials have adopted an ordinance authorizing water and sewer capital improvements and appropriating $3.03 million for the work, the entire amount of which will be financed by bonds or notes.
Township Committee members took the action on June 25 and the improvements, according to the ordinance, are as follows:
• $2.79 million for improvements to the water system including, but not limited to the replacement of a hospital storage tank, redrilling of Well No. 12, improvements to the Loop Water Main at Avalon Bay and Daniels Way, and the replacement of transfer switches at the Jackson Mills plant.
• $240,000 for improvements to the sewer system including, but not limited to sewer lining and manhole rehabilitation.
In other business, committee members renewed the following liquor licenses of businesses in Freehold Township for 2018-19: Chefs International Inc. (Moore’s Inn/Escondidos Mexican Restaurant), consumption license; Freehold Township Liquors Inc. (Max’s Beer, Wine and Liquor), distribution license; GPLR LLC (Radisson Hotel of Freehold), under applicable state statutory law, consumption license; Saker ShopRites Inc. (ShopRite Liquors and Wines of Freehold), distribution license.
And, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro Inc. (P.F. Chang’s China Bistro), consumption license; Raintree Liquors Inc. (Max’s Beer, Wine and Liquor), distribution license; Brinker Freehold Inc. (Chili’s Grill & Bar), consumption license; Briad Restaurant Group LLC (TGI Friday’s), consumption license; Ruby Tuesday Inc. (Ruby Tuesday), consumption license; The Cheesecake Factory Restaurants Inc. (The Cheesecake Factory), consumption license.
Also, Rare Hospitality International Inc. (Longhorn Steakhouse), consumption license; Bravo Brio Restaurant Group Inc. (Brio Tuscan Grille), consumption license with broad package privilege; iPlay America LLC (Game Time Bar and Grill), consumption license; LVV Corporation (South Gate Manor) under applicable state statutory law, consumption license; and Sam’s East Inc. (Sam’s Club No. 6671), distribution license.
During the meeting, committee members authorized a shared services agreement with the Manasquan River Regional Sewerage Authority (MRRSA) for licensed operational services for MRRSA sewer utilities. And, the committee passed a resolution amending the 2018 municipal budget to include $4,750 as revenue for the agreement.
In other action, committee members extended an agreement with the New Jersey Division of Purchase and Property for Freehold Township to continue to supply police officers at the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission agency on Okerson Road. The agreement will extend through June 30, 2019.
Finally, the committee amended the 2018 municipal budget to insert a $75,306 item of revenue, awarded to the township by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Clean Communities Program Grant.
