HBO will premiere its new documentary Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind on Monday, July 16 (Check your local listings). This is a funny, intimate and heartbreaking portrait of one of the world’s most beloved and inventive comedians. Told largely through Williams’ own words, the film celebrates what he brought to comedy and to the culture at large, from the wild days of late-1970s L.A. to his death in 2014. Featuring in depth interviews with those who knew and loved him, including Billy Crystal, Eric Idle, Whoopi Goldberg, David Letterman, Steve Martin, Pam Dawber and his son, Zak Williams, the documentary underscores what made Williams so unique. It covers from his youthful days in the San Francisco Bay area, to his time in New York at The Juilliard School, to his rocket-propelled fame on TV’s Mork & Mindy, to his profound impact on the American cultural landscape.
The CW will premiere its new series Burden of Truth on Wednesday, July 11, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The drama stars Kristin Kreuk as a big-city lawyer who returns to her hometown to take on what she thinks is a simple case, only to find herself in a fight for justice for a group of sick girls. The series also stars Peter Mooney, Alex Carter, Benjamin Ayres, Nicola Correia-Damude, Meegwun Fairbrother and newcomer Star Slade.
Syfy will premiere season 3 of Wynonna Earp on Friday, July 20, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The series follows the life of famous lawman Wyatt Earp’s demon-fighting great-great-granddaughter Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano), who inherited Wyatt’s mythic abilities and his famous gun in order to put an end to the Earp curse once and for all. Warrior hero Wynonna and her team of outmatched outsiders return to face monsters, revenants and their biggest fears as they fight to take down the demon who cursed the Earp family before he destroys the Ghost River Triangle – and the world.
WGN America will premiere its crime series The Disappearance on Thursday, July 12 (check your local listings). This psychological family drama centers around the unexplained and sudden disappearance of Anthony Sullivan during a treasure hunt on the day of his tenth birthday. The series follows the family as the complex and emotionally fraught mystery of their child’s disappearance unfolds. While both the police and family conduct their own investigations, seeking any signs and trace of evidence, long-buried familial secrets with devastating consequences rise to the surface leaving an unforeseen impact on every member of the Sullivan family. The six-part mystery event stars Emmy® winner Peter Coyote, Camille Sullivan and Aden Young.
