EDISON — Police are investigating an alleged armed robbery at the McDonald’s in Menlo Park minutes after the restaurant opened, Edison Police Lt. Robert Dudash said.
Employees told police detectives a man about 5-feet, 10-inches tall, wearing a black mask on the lower part of his face, entered the McDonald’s on Route 27 just after 6 a.m. July 10.
The man allegedly showed a front counter employee a handgun in his waistband and demanded that she open her cash register, police said. They said the suspect is believed to have a Hispanic accent.
When the woman complied with the man’s order, the robber allegedly took money from the cash drawer and walked out of the building, Dudash said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Edison police at 732-248-7400.
