Jackson police seek help identifying robbery suspect

JACKSON – The Jackson Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the male suspect in a robbery which took place on July 14.

At 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a hold-up alarm at a 7-Eleven convenience store at Bennetts Mills and South Cooks Bridge roads. As officers were responding to the scene, they were advised there was a robbery in progress and the suspect was brandishing a knife, according to police.

It was reported the suspect entered the store and demanded money from the cashier at knifepoint. The suspect was given cash and fled the store, possibly on foot, prior to the arrival of the officers.

The suspect was identified as a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a white T-shirt, tan cargo pants and a dark colored ski mask. He was reported to be about 5-feet, 11-inches tall, with a slim build.

Police said the suspect entered the store and walked directly to the cashier while producing a knife. He placed a backpack on the counter and placed the cash he received in the backpack before leaving the store.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect in this case is asked to contact Detective Scott Conover at 732-928-1111 or to leave a tip through the police department’s P3 Tips phone app.
