The man who went for a swim and drowned in Lake Carnegie, Princeton, last week has been identified as Talven Page, 23, of Trenton, according to the Princeton Police Department.
Page jumped into Lake Carnegie off the dock near the boat ramp on Princeton-Kingston Road for a swim shortly before 3 p.m. Aug. 10, police said.
Page, who was with a friend, swam for a few minutes and then disappeared under water. When he did not resurface, a 911 call was made to police at 2:52 p.m. and three officers arrived within three minutes of the call.
Two police officers went into the water in the area where Page’s friend reported seeing him. The officers saw bubbles come to the surface. A third police officer used a pole to probe the area around the dock.
One police officer went underwater to search for Page and found him. The officer grabbed Page and pulled him out of the water and onto the dock.
The police officers and Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad members used cardiopulmonary resuscitation to try to revive Page, who was then taken to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. He was pronounced dead at 3:54 p.m.
