SAYREVILLE – Three bond ordinances totaling $1.45 million for water and sewer improvements in locations throughout Sayreville have been adopted by the Borough Council.
On July 23, the council adopted a bond ordinance appropriating $675,000 for water improvements at Hercules Village, a bond ordinance appropriating $550,000 for water line improvements at the Scott Avenue and a bond ordinance appropriating $225,000 for sewer improvements at Hercules Village.
Each bond ordinance also authorizes the issuance of bonds or notes to help finance the appropriation for the improvements.
The bond ordinance for the sewer improvements at Hercules Village authorizes the issuance of $213,750 in bonds or notes to help finance the $225,000 appropriation, with a down payment of $11,250 covering the remaining costs, according to the improvement project’s bond ordinance.
The appropriations in three bond ordinances total $1.45 million overall and authorize the issuance of a total of $1.44 million in bonds or notes to help finance the appropriations of the bond ordinances.
In addition to the bond ordinances, the council passed a resolution awarding a $785,241 contract to Z Brothers Concrete Contractors, Inc. of Sayreville for the Hercules Village water and sanitary sewer improvements.
Council President Victoria Kilpatrick and council members Daniel Buchanan, Steven Grillo, Pat Lembo and Mary Novak voted in favor of the action taken on the projects for improvements to the water and sanitary sewer at Hercules Village and the water line at Scott Avenue. Councilman Ricci Melendez was absent.
In other business, the council unanimously pass a resolution approving the renewal of a liquor license for Pats Pub, Inc., Washington Road, for the 2018-19 licensing term.
Council members voted to reappoint Tom Pollando and Michael D’Addio as commissioners to the Sayreville Economic Revedelopment Agency (SERA). Kilpatrick, Buchanan, Lembo and Novak voted “yes” on reappointing Pollando and D’Addio to SERA; Grillo abstained.
