FREEHOLD – A $207,017 contract for the cleaning and restoration of one of the Freehold Borough K-8 School District’s facilities has been approved by the Board of Education. The work will take place after ongoing renovations at the facility have been completed.
On July 17, board members approved the contract with AllRisk Inc. for the cleaning and restoration of the Park Avenue Complex, which houses the Park Avenue Elementary School and the Freehold Intermediate School.
According to district administrators, additions and renovations that are taking place at the Park Avenue Complex this summer will prevent the regular cleaning of the building during that time. As a result, AllRisk was hired to ensure the building is properly cleaned before the start of the 2018-19 school year for students and staff.
The cleaning of walls, floors and room contents following construction at the Park Avenue Complex is scheduled to take place over a two-week timeframe at an estimated cost of $207,017, according to district administrators. Overtime may be incurred if the completion of construction does not allow a two-week timeframe for appropriate cleaning.
In other business, the board approved a $6,132 purchase of 600 built-in locker combination locks manufactured by Lyon for the Freehold Intermediate School. The $6,132 is comprised of $4,140 for the locks, $1,800 for installation, $164 for shipping and $28 for master keys.
And, board members authorized Business Administrator Joseph Howe to extend a lease agreement with Olive Branch Lodge (Masons), 2 Dutch Lane Road, The agreement permits the school district to use the lodge’s parking lot for overflow parking during construction at the nearby Freehold Learning Center.
