EAST BRUNSWICK – A special event will acknowledge the many nonprofit, volunteer-based organizations in the township, and will also showcase the local businesses the community has to offer.
The fifth annual East Brunswick Day will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on Sept. 23 at the East Brunswick Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. More than 130 exhibitors will participate with information, literature, demonstrations and giveaways at their booths.
There will be continuous entertainment on the outdoor stages. Opening on the main stage will be country/bluegrass singer-songwriter Mark Miklos, followed by the East Brunswick School of Rock Band, Kaye-Lynn Dance Studio, and Center Stage Dance. Next will be Bob Denson’s Blues and Epic Soul Band performing classic and current soul, R&B and pop hits.
NJM Insurance Group will bring its New Jersey Hall of Fame Mobile Museum. Free health screenings will be done by Saint Peter’s University Hospital’s Mobile Health Unit.
There will be free balloon twisters, face painting, inflatable rides, Archery Tag, Hover Ball and GaGa Pits. The Touch-A-Truck display will have emergency vehicles from the East Brunswick Police Department, Rescue Squad and Fire Districts, as well as Parks and Public Works vehicles.
The East Brunswick Youth Council will host a silent auction to support activities at the high school and to provide drug prevention education.
Food will be available for purchase at the Taste of East Brunswick Food Court.
