The Manalapan Police Department reported the following incidents that occurred in the township:
• On Sept. 4 at 4 p.m., Patrolman Matthew Porricelli conducted a motor vehicle stop for a motor vehicle violation on Oakland Mills Road. A 29-year-old male resident of Manalapan and a 31-year-old male resident of Manalapan were found to be in possession of prescription medication without a valid prescription, and drug paraphernalia. Both men were also found to be in possession of a Model 11 Winchester Airsoft hand gun, metal knuckles and other weapons. They were initially placed in the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township. Porricelli was the arresting officer, with the assistance of Patrolman Adam Sosnowski and his K-9 partner Grim.
• On Sept. 5 at 1:10 a.m., Patrolman William Dutton and Patrolman Kimberly Whitehill responded to the area of Route 9 south and Taylors Mills Road to investigate a report of a motor vehicle collision. Police said a 35-year-old female resident of Fort Collins, Colo., was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated.
• On Sept. 6 at 12:36 p.m., a 30-year-old Whiting resident reported that sometime around noon that day, an unknown individual removed a receiver device valued at $3,500 from a pick-up truck that was parked on the side of Route 33 east.
• On Sept. 6 at 8:27 a.m., a Manalapan resident reported that sometime between Aug. 31 and Sept. 4, unknown individuals broke and removed a 3-foot-tall statue from the property of a Carole Court residence. Carole Court is off Kinney Road. The statue was described as an India welcome statue, valued at $250. The incident is pending further investigation.
• On Sept. 7 at 8:27 p.m., a 56-year-old Manalapan resident reported fraudulent activity on a Verizon Wireless account. Police were told that unknown individuals used the victim’s identity to make more than $8,000 in unauthorized purchases.
• On Sept. 8 at 4 p.m., Patrolman Charles Mazzatto responded to Target, Route 9, to investigate a report of a shoplifter in custody. A 21-year-old female resident of Manalapan was being detained by a loss prevention officer after attempting to leave the business with $746.61 worth of unpaid merchandise. The woman was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released pending a court date.
