EATONTOWN – Borough Council members have introduced an ordinance that would, if adopted, reappropriate $1.12 million from previous bond issues and direct the funds to be used for capital improvements in Eatontown.
A public hearing on the ordinance has been scheduled for Oct. 10. At that time, members of the public may comment on the ordinance. Council members may adopt the ordinance following the public hearing.
According to the ordinance, reappropriations in the sum of $1.12 million will go toward capital improvement projects and the acquisition of equipment for several purposes, including:
• Improvements to various parks, including Husky Brook Park, Wolcott Park, 80 Acres Park and Wampum Park;
• Improvements to downtown and other municipal sites, including various aesthetic and streetscape improvements;
• Improvements to various roads, including drainage and concrete repairs, as well as road resurfacing/repairs at various locations, including Tinton Woods, Industrial Way and Woodmere;
• Acquisition and repair of machinery and equipment, including Opticom system updates;
• Improvements to public buildings, including the renovation of borough buildings, the demolition of unsafe properties and the acquisition of borough signs.
