Juvenile reports being chased by male in East Brunswick

 

EAST BRUNSWICK – The East Brunswick Police Department is investigating a suspicious incident in which a juvenile reported being chased by an adult male after getting off his school bus.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 on Willow Street between Arthur Street and New Street. The juvenile advised responding officers that after exiting the school bus, a black male, approximately 30 years of age, wearing a long sleeve white shirt and blue jeans, asked him what his name was, according to information provided by the East Brunswick Police Department.

The juvenile reportedly ran from the unidentified male, who started chasing after the juvenile, police said. The male stopped running after the juvenile in the area of New Street, according to reports.

The suspect was last seen walking north on Old Bridge Turnpike on the South River Borough side, police said.

South River and East Brunswick police are both conducting increased directed patrols of the area. The East Brunswick Police Department’s Investigative Bureau is investigating the incident.
