To the editor:
If you’re a citizen of Hillsborough, you care very deeply about the quality of life in our township. The good news is Hillsborough is quite exceptional in this regard. Indeed, in recent years, we’ve been ranked one of the best places in America (Money Magazine) and one of the safest places in New Jersey (SafeWise) to live.
Recognition of this kind doesn’t happen by accident. Day in and day out, fellow citizens dedicate themselves in myriad ways to our township. Two of those citizens are Shawn Lipani and Ron Skobo, both of whom are seeking election to our township committee this November.
Shawn Lipani is a life-long resident who has always been active in the township. He was recently appointed to the township committee after years of serving as chairman of the planning board. He has also been a member of the Economic & Business Development Commission, Board of Adjustment, Capital Planning Board, Rotary and Youth Services Commission. Married 24 years with a daughter, Mr. Lipani runs with family Central Jersey Nurseries, a family-owned business that has operated in Hillsborough for decades.
Ron Skobo, a retired law enforcement professional, has lived in Hillsborough for more than 40 years. His many community efforts include the township’s Recreation Commission, Cultural & Arts Commission and Planning Board. He has also served as Somerset Treatment Services Board president and volunteered for Somerset County Youth Leadership. A member of the Elks Lodge, Mr. Skobo is married 47 years with two children and six grandchildren.
Hillsborough couldn’t ask for two candidates more qualified, proven and dedicated to the Twonship. I urge citizens to join me in voting for Shawn Lipani and Ron Skobo this Election Day, Nov. 7.
