The Old Bridge Public Library will offer the following tech classes this month to help patrons efficiently use common technology and online Library resources.
Computer and Internet Basics will be held at 7 p.m. on Oct. 16. This introductory class will explore the basics of the personal computer and the internet.
School and Career Prep will be held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 21. This program will explore the library’s Learning Express resource. It will examine how to improve skills at school and in the workplace: find practice tests and study materials for the SAT, ACT, GED and other standardized tests. It will also cover resources for preparation for career certification and licensure exams.
A discussion on Facebook will take place at 11 a.m. on Oct. 25. This workshop will provide an overview of social media, and demonstrate how to create a free account, manage privacy settings and post messages and photos online.
Library Resources for Entrepreneurs will be held at 7 p.m. on Oct. 30. This class will explore how to conduct research with ReferenceUSA and Business Source Elite, and will demonstrate how to expand skill-sets with Lynda.com. It will examine how these resources can give insight to the competition, help understand legal forms, and provide steps on writing a business plan.
