Deputy Mayor Julie Blake and the repeated dedication of Woolsey Park

To the editor:

How many dedications does it take to dedicate Woolsey Park in Hopewell Township?

Apparently, at least two.

In a recent newspaper report, the Kuchinski-Blake administration will dedicate Woolsey Park at the third Annual Amazing Pumpkin Carve at Woolsey Park on Saturday, October 13.

The problem is that the Kuchinski-Blake administration previously dedicated Woolsey Park last year.

Anyone with a good memory would remember last year’s dedication on October 14, 2017, or the Hopewell Valley News banner headline, dated October 20, 2017, “Woolsey family recognized during park dedication.”

Do you think that the Kuchinski-Blake administration forgot that they dedicated Woolsey Park last year? Not likely.

Do you think that the Kuchinski-Blake administration is trying to set the Guinness Book of World Records for repeated park dedications for one park? Possible, but not likely.

Do you think that the Kuchinski-Blake administration is trying to give Deputy Mayor Julie Blake a leg up on her opponent during her re-election campaign by creating a speaking event with a captive audience and attendant media coverage only three and a half weeks before the election? Highly likely.

Clearly, the Kuchinski-Blake administration is trying to deceive the public into believing that Woolsey Park has not already been dedicated. Apparently, they are more dedicated to the re-election of Deputy Mayor Blake by any means, then in caring how many times they dedicate and rededicate Woolsey Park.
