Project completed at Freehold Township DPW storage building

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – The Township Committee has authorized a $4,227 increase in a $1.2 million contract for work on a township owned building.

On Oct. 9, committee members authorized the third and fourth change orders in a contract with RNM Construction for improvements to the Department of Public Works storage building. The third change order was for $2,811 and the fourth change order was for $1,416, for a total of $4,227.

According to a resolution, the third change order was for the cost to increase the size of the building’s garage door and the fourth change order was for the relocation and installation of two additional outlets. The project at the DPW building has been completed, according to the resolution.

The original contract that was awarded to RNM Construction was for $1.228 million. The third and fourth change orders increased the contract to $1.25 million, according to the resolution.

In other business, the committee awarded a $14,960 contract to U.S. Grounds Maintenance Corp. for landscaping improvements at the fountain near the Justice Center.

Committee members also authorized $9,750 in additional funds in a contract with Starlite Electric, LLC, for electrical service work in Freehold Township. According to a resolution, the additional funds are for work to bring the electrical service and panels at the Michael J. Tighe Park pavilion up to code.

And, committee members extended contracts with Bil-Jim Construction Company and RWV Land & Livestock South for one additional year for snow removal and ice control services.
