The Hillsborough Dukes Mighty Mite team won the first round of the Jersey Valley Conference Playoffs with a 32-0 victory over the Watchung Hills Wolverines.
The offense had a banner day with two touchdowns by Ryan Spinelli, a 37-yard touchdown by Sanjay Mills and Gavin Glazewski capped off the score with a 1-yard plunge into the endzone.
The Dukes defense kept the Wolverines out of the end zone with strong play from Ryan Spinelli and Caden Walinsky. Ryan Strachan forced a fumble late in the game that was recovered by Bryce Hayden to seal the shut out.
The Dukes Mighty Mite team advances to the second round of playoffs to take on the Golden Saints from Woodbridge Wednesday night in South Plainfield.

The Hillsborough Dukes were home today, Sunday, Oct. 21 against the Golden Saints.
Logan McDermid with two touchdown runs and the overtime run to win it for the Dukes. The final score was 18-12. Tyler Pirog throwing a key fourth down play; fake punt pass to Quinn Hayden for a 65-yard catch/run. William “Bubba” Hayes was going hard–power running all day long.
The defense was led by Bubba Hayes, Quinn Hayden, Logan McDermid, James Esposito and Josh Malek. All day long making tackles and sacks. They had an outstanding game especially when it came down to the wire.

Next week, the Hillsborough Dukes will be hosting the Championship game against the Metuchen Bulldogs. Both with an impressive record of 5-1. It’s going to be an exciting game. Don’t miss it.
The Hillsborough Dukes will host the Jersey Valley Conference Championship Games on Sunday, Oct. 28 at Hillsborough High School. Games will begin at 9 a.m. and the Hillsborough Dukes will be playing in most of the championship games.
