The Hillsborough Jr. Raiders Youth and Junior competition cheerleading teams kicked off their season on Sunday by earning two first place victories at the Jr. Red Devils 9th Annual Cheerfest Competition, which was held at Hunterdon Central High School in Flemington.
Both teams received scores that were among the highest of the day, and two athletes were awarded top honors for “Best Jumps” in their respective age groups.
The girls participate in several months of strength, tumbling, advanced cheer skills and choreography training in order to prepare for their season. In addition to competing, they can be seen cheering on the Hillsborough Jr. Raiders Football teams on game day.
The girls are back in the gym this week as they prepare to take on some of the best teams in New Jersey this Saturday in Erial. For more information about upcoming competitions or the Jr. Raiders Competition Cheer program, contact them at [email protected].
