Sayreville War Memorial High School and North Brunswick Township High School will still meet in the NJSIAA Central Jersey, Group 5 sectional football playoff championship, just not on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m., as originally planned.
After a snowstorm on Nov. 15 and on the morning of Nov. 16, the sectional championship game was postponed to Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. The North Brunswick Police Department confirmed the change in an email. Top-seeded Sayreville will still be the host to he game.
Sayreville is 9-1 in 2018. North Brunswick, the No. 2 seed in the sectional playoffs, is 10-1.
The Bombers have beaten two playoff opponents, eighth-seeded Hillsborough High School on Nov. 3 and fifth-seeded Manalapan High School on Nov. 10, by a combined score of 66-21. The Raiders defeated Trenton Central High School, 40-27, in the quarterfinals on Nov. 2 and Edison High School, 30-21, in the semifinals on Nov. 9.
