The third annual Asbury Park Santa Run will take place on Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Asbury Park.
The 5K race will help support Lunch Break, a local charity and 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to providing food, clothing, and fellowship to local community members in need.
All runners will be given a Santa Claus suit at registration and will run a closed course on the streets of Asbury Park. A portion of the proceeds from the race will go to Lunch Break. There will also be a toy drive for local children in need, according to a press release.
After the race, runners can head to The Stone Pony on Ocean Avenue for an after party featuring a performance by Brian Kirk & The Jirks. The after party is open to all ages. The event is free for all runners. There will be a $10 cover at the door for any non-runners who wish to attend.
Tickets for the event are on sale now with 70 percent already sold. Groups of four or more individuals who sign up are eligible for a $5 discount per runner.
Following registration, runners have the ability to fundraise for the event via CrowdRise – a challenge to raise $100 per runner and an overall goal of $100,000.
One-Hundred percent of this fundraising efforts will go to Lunch Break. The event will also offer a 50/50 raffle with all proceeds to the charity.
