Monmouth Civic Chorus will perform its ‘Joy to the World’ concert on Dec. 16 at 4 p.m. at Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank.
The Count Basie Center for the Arts is located at 99 Monmouth St.
The chorus will present an edition of Artistic Director Dr. Ryan James Brandau’s Christmas Suite. Holiday classics including ‘O Holy Night,’ ‘Silent Night,’ ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,’ and ‘Deck the Halls’ will be performed, according to a press release.
Dr. Brandau’s arrangement of ‘Auld Lang Syne’ will be featured. This year’s rendition of the ‘Suite’ will include choruses from Handel’s beloved ‘Messiah’ and Bach’s ‘Magnificat’.
“The holiday concert is always our favorite performance of the year,” Brandau said in a statement. “It’s a joy to perform these classic melodies in a re-imagined way and, of course, it is always a thrill to return to the pages of Messiah and the Magnificat.”
