The North Brunswick Township World War I Centennial Committee will hold a National Pearl Harbor Day event beginning at 7:48 a.m. on Dec. 7 at Elmwood Cemetery, 425 Georges Road, North Brunswick.
The program will begin at the time Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese.
American Legion Post 459 of North Brunswick and VFW Post 25 of Milltown have been part of this commemorative ceremony for the past 10 years, that this year will take place at the gravesite of a survivor from Pearl Harbor.
The ceremony will include a Pearl Harbor memorial prayer by a retired veteran of the U.S. Navy, followed by a poem as a special tribute. A wreath will be laid at the gravesite in support of the Wreaths Across America and will end with the speech from President Franklin D. Roosevelt declaring war against Japan.
The public is invited to attend.
American flags are to be at half staff on Dec. 7.
