METUCHEN — A Lyft driver, who alleged he was on his way to pick someone up at the Whole Foods Market, was charged with an unlawful possession of a handgun, according to police.
The 31-year-old Roselle man was also charged with one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance following a motor vehicle stop on Middlesex Avenue on Nov. 21, police said.
Metuchen police recovered a loaded .32-caliber revolver in addition to marijuana.
The Roselle man was released from custody after he was processed. His court date is scheduled in Middlesex County Superior Court, New Brunswick, on Dec. 20.
