The Toms River High School North football team rung up its third victory of the season this past weekend to remain undefeated.
Toms River North defeated Central Regional High School, a Shore Conference American Division opponent, 42-6, in Toms River on Sept. 22.
Quarterback Jake Kazanowsky threw five touchdown passes to guide the Mariners, who avenged a loss to Central Regional from a season ago.
Junior running back Jarrod Pruitt also contributed to the victory for Toms River North when he took off on a 30-yard touchdown burst.
The Mariners offense was on fire throughout the first half, racking up their 42-point total.
Toms River North’s defense held Central Regional to just one touchdown, which came late in the final quarter.
The 3-0 start comes one year after Toms River North ended with a 1-9 record.
Toms River North will bid for its fourth victory when it meets Freehold Township High School on Sept. 28 at 6:30 p.m. in Freehold Township.
Freehold Township is 1-2 this season.
