Old Bridge Library Winterfest event to include Mad Science program

The Old Bridge Library will hold its annual Winterfest celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 27 at the library, 1 Old Bridge Plaza, corner of Route 516 and Cottrell Road, Old Bridge.

The Mad Science program will begin at 11 a.m., with a 45-minute presentation highlighting the Mad Scientist’s wintry science experiments. Through a mixture of science and magic, children will see a playing card vanish only to reappear again neatly gift-wrapped. The program will also demonstrate a snowman being defrosted and Jack Frost filling an eight-foot air bag with one breath. As a grand finale, the Mad Scientist will explore how a mysterious North Pole rock that can be used to make bubbling potions, shivering quarters and clouds of fog.

In addition to the science presentation, Winterfest will offer an array of games, crafts, holiday refreshments and of activities for all ages. Young patrons will have the chance to win prizes and get temporary tattoos.
