Sisters use SBA loan to open Revive Spa in former hometown of North Brunswick

Sisters Samantha McCann and Stacy Shiffner, former North Brunswick residents and North Brunswick Township High School graduates, have partnered to open up Revive Spa on Route 130 in North Brunswick with the support of a $128,000 Small Business Administration (SBA) loan from Unity Bank.

Shiffner previously worked in marketing and is the business manager for the spa, located at 2140 Route 130 north. McCann is an esthetician with 15 years experience in the spa industry. Both currently live in Monroe, according to information provided by Yankee Public Relations.

The 1,400-square-foot, independently owned, modern day spa offers manicures, pedicures, skincare, body treatments, makeup and eyelashes. Located in a new strip mall with a hair salon, two food establishments, and a clothing store, the spa features three facial/body treatment rooms, three manicure stations, three pedicure stations, and two makeup stations, as well as an infrared sauna and shower area, according to the statement.

Unity participates in the 7(a) Loan Program, SBA’s primary program to help startup and existing small businesses obtain financing when they might not be eligible for business loans through normal lending channels. The bank also participates in the SBA 504 Loan program, an economic development program that offers small businesses long-term, fixed-rate financing used to acquire fixed assets for expansion or modernization, according to the statement.
