Princeton U hoops
The Princeton University women’s basketball team ran its winning streak to four when it topped Marist, 60-57, last Saturday at Jadwin Gym. Bella Alarie scored 24 points to lead the offense for the Tigers. Princeton, which is now 5-7, has won all three games Alarie has played since returning to the lineup after a pre-season injury. Gabrielle Rush scored 14 points and Sydney Jordan sank 12 in the triumph for Princeton. The Tigers were scheduled to play at St. Francis in Brooklyn on Wednesday and will play at Hartford on Friday.
The Princeton men’s basketball team is 5-5 after suffering a 101-50 loss against one of the nation’s premier programs, Duke, on Tuesday. Myles Stephens had 19 points in the loss at legendary Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Tigers had bounced back from their loss to St. John’s to defeat Iona, 85-81, on Saturday at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Devin Cannady and Jaelin Llewelynn each scored 22 points to pace the offense for the Tigers. Jose Morales scored 12 points, while Richmond Aririguzoh and Stephens each recorded 10 points. Princeton will play at Lafayette on Friday.
Princeton U hockey
The Princeton men’s ice hockey team snapped a six-game losing streak when it played ninth-ranked Penn State to a 4-4 tie last Saturday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Princeton trailed, 4-1, before scoring the final three goals of the game to force overtime. Max Veronneau scored a pair of goals and assisted on the other two for the Tigers. Ryan Kuffner added a goal and three assists in the draw.
Princeton is now 3-8-2 on the season. The Tigers are off until Dec. 28 when they will be the host to Maine at Baker Rink.

The Princeton University senior has accepted an invitation to play in the 94th East-West Shrine Game. The game will be held Jan. 19, 2019 at Tropicana Field in
St. Petersburg, Fla., kicking off at 3 p.m. and broadcast live on NFL
Network. More than 100 players from last year’s game signed with professional
teams this spring, and more than 70 made final NFL rosters last season.
Horsted, a receiver who was named a second team All-America selection on Tuesday, ranked sixth in the FCS in touchdown catches (13), seventh in receptions per game (7.2), and 12th in receiving yards per game (104.7). He became the 11th Princeton player, and the first since Mike Catapano (2013), to earn an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game
HONORED
John Lovett
The Princeton University senior became the eighth Princeton player in the last 100 years to earn multiple First-Team All-America honors Tuesday when he was named to the 2018 FCS Stats All-America Team at the all-purpose position. Lovett, the 2018 Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year, is the first Princeton football player since Keith Elias to earn First-Team All-America honors for the second time, and he did so after leading the Tigers to a 10-0 record.
Lovett ranked first in the Ivy League in total offense (303.0 yards/game), second in rushing (99.3 yards/game) and second in passing (203.7 yards/game).
He ranked sixth in the nation in completion percentage (66.1) and led the Ivy League with 18 passing touchdowns.
COLLEGE
John McArthur
The Princeton Day School graduate has played in all 11 games this season, one as a starter, for the Immaculata University men’s basketball team. McArthur is averaging 2.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game this season. A freshman from Robbinville, McArthur scored a season-high six points in a 105-99 overtime loss to Bryn Athen.
Immaculata is currently 3-8 on the season following a 70-66 victory at Dickinson on Saturday. The Mighty Macs were scheduled to play at Alvernia on Wednesday.
