Freehold Township officials authorize contract for asphalt repairs

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – Following several water main breaks in Freehold Township, the Township Committee has awarded a local firm a $26,808 contract to make asphalt repairs.

On Dec. 4, committee members awarded the contract to L&L Paving Company, Howell, for repairs at various locations in the municipality. The anticipated term of the contract is one year, according to a resolution.

Officials said the contract is the result of a need for asphalt repairs following water main breaks in the township.

Committee members also amended and authorized additional funds to a contract with Montana Construction Corporation for as-needed repairs and installation of water and sewer system components and emergency service. The action was taken due to several emergency water main breaks, according to a resolution. The additional funds will total $200,000.

In other business, the committee authorized a contract with County Business Systems for the purchase of a data storage system for Freehold Township’s document imaging system. According to a resolution, the firm will supply the data storage system for $31,623. The anticipated term of the contract is for one year.

Committee members authorized a contract for automobile repairs for the Department of Public Works garage with Branning Auto Body for an anticipated term of one year. The cost of the repairs supplied by Branning is not to exceed $30,000, according to the resolution.

Finally, the committee authorized the execution of a parking permit agreement with PSD Freehold LLC, Honda of Freehold for commuter parking passes at the Schibanoff Lane commuter parking lot on the southbound side of Route 9.
