Girls’ basketball roundup

Here is an update on the girls’ basketball teams at the Toms River high schools.

TOMS RIVER HIGH SCHOOL NORTH

Toms River High School North defeated Central Regional High School, 65-42, in Bayville on Jan. 11. Senior forward Jenna Paul registered 25 points, 11 blocks and seven rebounds and senior guard Brielle Bisogno finished with 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the victory.

The Mariners, who played  Jackson Memorial High School this week, will seek to knock off  rival Toms River High School East on Jan. 17. The game at Toms River North is set to start at 5 p.m.

TOMS RIVER HIGH SCHOOL SOUTH

Toms River High School South beat rival Toms River High School East, 39-36, at Toms River South on Jan. 11. Sophomore forward Kelle Anwander collected 12 points and five rebounds and senior forward Shiloh Williams contributed five points and 10 rebounds in the victory.

The Indians next opponent will be Southern Regional High School in a road matchup on Jan. 17 in Manahawkin at 6:30 p.m.

TOMS RIVER HIGH SCHOOL EAST

Toms River High School East lost to rival Toms River High School South, 39-36, in Toms River. Senior forward Kamryn Lister sank 14 points and junior guard Jordyn Madigan put in  eight points in the defeat.

The Raiders will be home against rival Toms River High School North on Jan. 17 at 5 p.m.
