Old Bridge now uses CodeRED to send out emergency notifications

OLD BRIDGE – As of the New Year, the township has moved from Nixle to OnSolve’s CodeRED to enhance the capabilities of the township’s emergency notification system.

CodeRED is a web-based critical communication solution enabling Old Bridge Township to notify residents, visitors and businesses by telephone, text message, email and social media of time-sensitive information, emergencies or urgent notifications, according to township officials.

The system can notify individuals within minutes to ensure information such as evacuation or shelter-in-place notices, missing persons and inclement weather advisories.

Only authorized and trained officials have access to send alerts using the CodeRED system, according to officials.

The public may select to receive emergency notifications, community notices and/or missing person alerts enrolling through the CodeRED Community Enrollment page or CodeRED Mobile Alert application. Messages can be received when traveling anywhere CodeRED is available.

Township officials encouraged residents, visitors, businesses and their employees to enroll through the CodeRED Community Enrollment page on the township’s website, www.oldbridge.com.

The application for CodeRED’s Mobile Alert is available through Google Play and Apple’s App Store. Registration is free.
