NBC

Cheers and Jeers

by Damian Holbrook

Cheers to The Titan Games

for its Rock-ing ratings. Like an American ninja warrior on human-growth hormones, the premiere of NBC’s feats-of-strength competition from Dwayne Johnson (pictured) helped the network win Thursday night in viewers age 18–49 for the first time in two years (not including sports programs). That’s some serious muscle!

Cheers to Deadly Class

for being a lesson in style and substance. Beneath the retro-perfect soundtrack and gorgeously choreographed fight sequences, Syfy’s take on the brutal, ’80s-set comic book series about a prep school for assassins (starring Lana Condor, pictured) packs a relevant study of teens coping with abuse, bullies and other issues.

Jeers to Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club

for drowning in self- indulgence. Less My Big Fat Greek Vanderpump Rules and more a Mean Girls Gone Wild, the ex-starlet (pictured) seems intent on talking about herself and exploiting her dewy staff instead of running the Mykonos hot spot at the center of MTV’s vapid docu- suck-up. Check, please!

Jeers to Bandersnatch Trolls

for choosing the wrong path. Slammed with piles of hate from anonymous dregs online, Will Poulter, who stars as the balcony-jumping programmer Colin (pictured) in Netflix’s interactive Black Mirror episode, opted to leave social media in the interest of his own mental health. Trust us, it’s not yours that needs help, kid.
