Hillsborough Township partners with school district for scholarship competition

Mayor Frank DelCore announced Hillsborough Township’s participation in the New Jersey League of Municipalities’ Louis Bay II, Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Competition, during a recent township committee meeting.

“The Township is once again teaming up with the Hillsborough School District so Hillsborough students can participate in this scholarship competition,” DelCore said during the Jan. 29 meeting.

The purpose of this scholarship program is to advance the virtues of elected and volunteer positions in municipal government while raising awareness of municipal government in general.

“We are delighted to partner with the Township through the New Jersey League of Municipalities to participate in this scholarship competition opportunity for our students,” said Dr. Jorden Schiff, Superintendent of Hillsborough Township Schools.

The Louis Bay, II Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Competition will offer up to three $1,000 scholarships statewide.

The deadline for applications is March 19.

Completed applications need to be sent to Hillsborough Township Mayor Frank DelCore.  Information regarding this scholarship opportunity can be found on the Naviance Program utilized by the School District.
