Progressive Insurance Saltwater Fishing Expo drops anchor March 15-17 in Edison

The 2019 Progressive Insurance Saltwater Fishing Expo returns in March to the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison, showcasing more than 230 exhibitors and free daily seminars.

Try a hand at an ultra-realistic fishing simulator, snap photos with the Miss Geico Speedboat or take a turn at the Casting Pond, where experts will be on-hand to teach casting techniques. Experts will be available at stations throughout the show to provide one-on-one personalized insight and hands-on demonstrations geared to new anglers. Techniques being taught at the center are knot tying, bait rigging, reel maintenance, rod building and repair, pouring your own molds, mojo fishing 101, fly tying and more. Television talent, Capt. Frank Crescitelli of show The Fin Chasers, will provide instruction on how to toss a cast net to catch bait.

Show hours are noon to 8 p.m. on March 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 16 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 17.

On March 15, anyone named Rod, or any variation of, will receive free admission with proper identification. On March 17 only, for children 11 and younger, the first 100 will receive a free rod and reel upon entry and all will receive completely free admission into the exposition. Once inside, they can participate in a scavenger hunt where a fully stamped checklist results in the opportunity to visit the Grand Prize Giveaway Booth.

Regular tickets are $12 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-11, and free for children age 5 and younger when accompanied by an adult. Tickets are for sale online at www.Sportshows.com/saltwater
