Rutgers student from South River indicted in murder plot

A Rutgers University student was indicted on Feb. 21 in connection with a plot to commit murder and cyber harassment.

Izaia Bullock, 22, of Piscataway, formerly of South River, was indicted with two counts of attempted murder in the first degree and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree. In a separate indictment, Bullock was indicted for one count of cyber harassment in the fourth degree, according to information provided by Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey.

The two indictments were handed up following a presentation to a Middlesex County Grand Jury by Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor Megan Kosovich.

 

An investigation by the Rutgers University Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that on Oct. 29, 2018, Bullock allegedly initiated a plot to murder the family members of an acquaintance, according to the statement. It was also determined that on Oct. 25, 2018, Bullock, by means of an online capacity, allegedly harassed the acquaintance, according to the statement.
