Students at Holmdel High School will put on a production of the Broadway musical “Grease” from March 7-9.
“Grease”, a 1971 musical by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, was once the longest-running show on Broadway. The production features a rock-and-roll score, including the songs “Summer Nights,” “Greased Lightning,” and “We Go Together.” Set at the fictional Rydell High School in 1959, the plot follows a group of teenagers as they explore nuances of love, relationships and social expectations. Themes are appropriate for mature audiences.
Anjali Shah and Owen Walor lead the Holmdel High School cast in the roles of Sandy and Danny with Allison Geller as Betty Rizzo and Nick Bauman as Kenickie. The rest of the cast is played by Sarianne White, Georgette Abinador, Benjamin Roytman, Lane Fontana, Tiffany Kumar, Nick DiBlasi, Rohaan Ahmad, Erik Boehler, Skylar Yannello, John Rappa, Aman Tolia, Keira Behal and Dan Tobengauz. The show is supported by the ensemble of Emily Baylock, Mia Goins, Katherine Ho, Emily Mundy, Aidan Paul, Avery Peters, Isobel Rampulla, Evelyn Salvia, Talia Stolker, Aman Tolia and Anastasia Vander Woude.
Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $15, senior admission is $10 and student admission is $5. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
