Cheers and Jeers

Cheers to Celebrity Big Brother

for keeping it short and sweet. The latest in CBS’s round of famous roomies aired for a tight three weeks of wild eliminations and unexpected alliances. One gripe: It would have been nice to see more of Jonathan Bennett and Ryan Lochte’s (pictured) bromance!

Jeers to ABC
for taking a step backward. As much as we love love love Tracee Ellis Ross’s Rainbow (pictured), the network needs to pass on its potential black-ish prequel about Bow’s youth and focus its energy on creating more original characters of color. Besides, there’s already the Freeform spinoff, grown-ish. Get some new material!

Jeers to The Good Doctor

for admitting a new bad guy. As cool as it is to see TGD’s executive producer and Lost favorite Daniel Dae Kim (pictured) join the hit ABC drama as the hospital’s latest chief of surgery, we’re kind of sick about how the guy seems to have it out for Shaun (Freddie Highmore). Doctor, heal thyself!

Cheers to How to Get Away With Murder

for killing it with the guest moms. Cicely Tyson is always epic as Annalise’s lovingly deteriorating mama, but we also applaud Cynthia Stevenson’s turn as Connor’s mother, Pam Walsh (pictured), on the ABC drama. Her tender scenes with her on-screen son (Jack Falahee) are reason enough to believe that Asher (Matt McGorry) would fall for her.
