Old Bridge Library holds NJ Makers Day activities

The Old Bridge Public Library will celebrate the fifth annual NJ Makers Day with hands-on learning experiences from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 23 at the library, 1 Old Bridge Plaza, corner of Route 516 and Cottrell Road, Old Bridge.

A Code Ninjas STEM Lab for children ages 7-14 includes activities such as Scratch coding and Snap Circuits. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cardboard Cat Castles creates a cat’s new favorite hangout spot. The library will supply boxes and basic supplies. One registration per family; children must be accompanied by an adult. 11 a.m. to noon.

Tech Take Apart allows children, with an adult, to take apart a computer. 12:15-1:45 p.m.

Light It Up! Learning About Electricity and Circuits allows patrons to learn how circuits work using batteries, wires, lights and buzzers. They will also use special conductive Play-Doh to build a creation and bring it to life with LED lights. Presented by Da Vinci Science Center. Sponsored by InQuire Science Series. Ages 7-14. Registration required. 2:30-3:30 p.m.

There will also be origami classes for adults, craft projects for all ages, and robotics presentations, as well as tours and demonstrations in the Idea Farm.
