Assemblymembers of New Jersey’s 18th Legislative District, Nancy Pinkin (D-East Brunswick) and Robert Karabinchak (D-Edison), have announced their 2019 re-election campaign to the New Jersey General Assembly.
“It has been an honor to serve the residents of the 18th District in Trenton and around town. We will continue to return state dollars back to the district, negotiate for fair school district funding, advocate for healthier and safer communities, protect our environment, and prioritize transportation infrastructure projects. We’re asking for your support this year as we seek re-election in November,” the two announced in a joint statement dated March 20.
On March 11, Middlesex County Democratic Organization committee members from the 18th Legislative District selected Pinkin and Karabinchak as their candidates of choice, according to the statement.
Pinkin was first elected to the Assembly in 2013 after serving eight years as a councilwoman on the East Brunswick Township Council and currently serves as the Assembly Deputy Speaker Pro Tempore and the chairwoman of the Assembly’s Environment and Solid Waste Committee.
Karabinchak was appointed to the Assembly in May 2016 and re-elected in 2017 after serving eight years as a councilman on the Edison Township Council and currently serves as the Deputy Whip for the Assembly Majority and vice-chair of Commerce & Economic Development Committee in Trenton.
The 18th District includes East Brunswick, Edison, Helmetta, Highland Park, Metuchen, South Plainfield and South River.
The 2019 Primary Election Day is set for June 4. The General Election is set for Nov. 5.
