FREEHOLD – Residents are invited to a luncheon that will unite people of all ages and cultures in Freehold Borough.
The second annual Multicultural, Multigenerational Luncheon will be held on April 5 at the Freehold Borough YMCA Community Center, 41 Center St., from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Hosted by the Neighborhood Connections to Health community coalition, in conjunction with the YMCA, the Social Community Activities Network and other community partners, the event will offer food and raffle basket giveaways to guests.
Meals from several nations will be provided by culinary students from Freehold High School, borough residents and local restaurants.
According to the Neighborhood Connections to Health, the goal of the event is to build community relationships by bringing together people of various ages and cultures.
“I’m looking forward to getting the community together to build relationships,” said Jenna Sistad, a committee member with the Neighborhood Connections to Health. “We all have something to offer one another. Our community partners have many resources (most are free) and families that Freehold residents can benefit from. This is an opportunity to learn about your community and what is being offered.
“Our group’s goal is to build a volunteer group comprised of youth and older adults to support the work of Neighborhood Connections to Health coalition,” Sistad said. “This volunteer group would have a chance to make a positive impact on Freehold in any way the community wants. This event is a great way to bring interested folks together.”
Neighborhood Connections to Health is a community coalition that aims to build a more connected and healthier Freehold, according to the coalition. Support for the coalition was provided by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s New Jersey Health Initiatives program.
