Middletown board honors outstanding educators, school personnel

MIDDLETOWN – Educators and educational service professionals were honored for their exemplary efforts in the Middletown Township Public Schools.

During a ceremony on March 27 at Middletown High School North, Superintendent of Schools William O. George III said, “The (teachers and professionals) of the year are the best of the best. We are celebrating the teachers of the year who are shining examples of our district’s curriculum, initiatives and most importantly, these are tremendously caring people who inspire and motivate children.”

The following professionals were recognized as outstanding educators: Keri Kent, Bayview Elementary School; Samantha Saffioti, Fairview Elementary School; Alyson Dunzello, Harmony Elementary School; Alyssa LoPresti, Leonardo Elementary School; Lauren Wagner, Lincroft Elementary School; Marc Hutchinson, Middletown Village Elementary School; Kim Gallagher, Navesink Elementary School; Kristen McDermott, New Monmouth Elementary School.

Also, Elizabeth Mullee, Nut Swamp Elementary School; Kristen Luther, Ocean Avenue Elementary School; Elizabeth Felsmann, Port Monmouth Elementary School; Renee Karaban, River Plaza Elementary School; Denise Shannon, Bayshore Middle School; Courtney Kling, Thompson Middle School; Brian Gibbons, Thorne Middle School; Peter Milnes, Middletown High School North; and Joanne Deignan, Middletown High School South.

The following individuals were recognized as outstanding educational professionals: Catherine Grano, Port Monmouth Elementary School, nurse; Christine Black, Bayshore Middle School, student assistance counselor; and Stacy White, Middletown High School South, athletic trainer.

The honorees will be recognized at the Monmouth County Educator of the Year Recognition Luncheon at Monmouth University, West Long Branch, on May 23.
