METUCHEN – After a several month investigation, police have charged two borough men in their alleged connection with the distribution of heroin, according to Police Chief David Irizarry.
The two men – 31 and 21 in age – were charged after police executed a search warrant at their residence on March 29, according to police.
The 21-year-old male was charged with one count of possession of controlled dangerous substances (CDS) with the intent to distribute, one count of possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a park, one count of possession of heroin and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.
The 31-year-old man was charged with one count of possession of CDS with intent to distribute and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.
During the search of their residence, police allegedly located a quantity of suspected heroin along with paraphernalia used to facilitate CDS distribution. The 21-year-old was taken into custody at the residence without incident. The 31-year-old was later taken into custody at an Essex County Correctional Facility, police said.
Both men were transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick and were being held on the charges against them, as of press time, police said.
