Committee appreciates support for annual train show

I want to thank everyone who was able to attend Manalapan’s recent train show, presented by the Manalapan Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee.

This was the fourth year were were able to have the show in our community center. The turnout was almost a 30% increase over last year. We credit the increase to word of mouth and the article that was published in the News Transcript.

As in the past, there was no charge for admission, but people were generous with contributions. These contributions will allow us to continue to support our veterans and the upkeep of our memorial in front of town hall.

We intend to continue the train show for as long as people will visit us. The people who come in to set up their exhibitions perform a mission of love for their displays, some three levels high.

We also need to thank former New York Giants wide receiver Stephen Baker, “The Touchdown Maker,” of Super Bowl XXV, for his fourth year of supporting our efforts. His radio controlled model planes and virtual reality equipment was a hit again.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you next year.
