Jackson Police Beat, May 1

The Jackson Police Department reported the following incidents occurred in the township:

• Officers responded to the area of Brookfield Drive at 5:31 p.m. April 18 to investigate a report of a disturbance. Officers eventually located a 34-year-old female at a nearby convenience store. As the officers attempted to speak with the woman, she began screaming and cursing at them. The woman was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Police said she was found to be in possession of marijuana.

• Officers responded to a residence on Brookfield Drive at 1:06 a.m. April 19 to assist in a child protection check at the residence of a woman who had been involved in an earlier dispute. As the check was being concluded, a 34-year-old female who had been involved in the previous incident arrived home and began yelling and cursing at a child protection agent. Police said the woman was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. She was found to be in possession of a partially consumed marijuana cigarette. Police said the woman was lodged in the Ocean County Jail, Toms River.

• Officers responded to South New Prospect Road at 1:33 a.m. April 18 to investigate a report of a man who had been located by firefighters asleep at the wheel of his running vehicle in an intersection. The firefighters moved the vehicle from the road. Police said the 51-year-old man was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving and reckless driving.

• Police said that at 11:08 a.m. April 18, an individual who was watching a residence on Brookwood Parkway for a family member reported a burglary to the home. Police said the individual reported that property valued in excess of $3,000 was stolen.
