Easterseals New Jersey will “Play With Purpose” on May 11 to promote awareness of people who have disabilities and special needs and to raise funds to support Easterseals’ programs and services that reach people throughout New Jersey.
The event will take place at the Sportika sports complex, 150 Woodward Road, Manalapan, which features Olympic-size indoor soccer fields, high school regulation basketball courts and more. Registration for “Play With Purpose” will start at 9 a.m. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m.
“At Easterseals ‘Play With Purpose’ you will see a healthy lifestyle in action, through a wide range of sports and athletic activities at all levels,” President and CEO Brian Fitzgerald said.
“This event is all about one very important part of our motto, which is to ‘live, learn, work, play in the community.’ On May 11 we are putting all of the emphasis on ‘play’ and we encourage everyone to come out, support the disability community and have a great time,” Fitzgerald said.
The event will feature recreational activities for people of all ages and abilities and give everyone the chance to enjoy the physical and emotional benefits of play. Activities will include accessible bowling and golf, soccer shootouts and skill drills, football toss and more, according to a press release.
The emcee will be Bill Spadea of WKXW-FM, New Jersey 101.5. For more information about “Play with Purpose,” to register, or to donate, visit www.eastersealsnj.org/play
