MILLSTONE – A contract has been awarded by the Township Committee to improve safety and security at properties owned by Millstone Township.
On May 15, committee members awarded a $27,360 contract to CSS – Complete Security Systems for fire and burglar systems at various properties. Complete Security Systems provided the only quote for the contract. Fire Securities and Technology also bid for the contract, but no quote was received, according to a resolution.
The town’s payment will be covered with funds from bond ordinances that were adopted by the committee in 2018 and this year, both of which provided funding for the replacement of alarm systems at municipal properties.
Officials said $8,000 would be used from the 2018 bond ordinance and $19,360 would be used from the 2019 bond ordinance.
In other business, committee members appointed Travis Lamberson as the fire protection subcode official/fire protection inspector, effective June 5. Lamberson will work three hours per week at an hourly rate of $43 per hour, according to the resolution.
Committee members appointed Dennis Gibson as a part-time construction official, effective May 15. Gibson was previously appointed temporary construction official in January.
In other business, the committee awarded a $15,900 contract to GST Transport Corp. for 2019 recreation camp buses.
GST Transport was awarded the contract as the lowest responsible bidder, according to a resolution. Other bids were received from Jay’s Bus Service ($19,100), Irvin Raphael Inc. ($25,200) and George Dapper Bus Inc. ($32,350).
Finally, committee members appointed Amy Butewicz to the Millstone Township Open Space and Farmland Preservation Council to fulfill the unexpired term of Randi Rosenfeld, which will expire on Dec. 31, 2020.
