OLD BRIDGE – Three, four-year Old Bridge Township Council-at-Large seats are up for grabs in the November election.
Republican incumbents Anita Greenberg-Belli, Eleanor “Debbie” Walker and Mary Rita Sohor will face two former council members and a newcomer in the election on Nov. 5.
During the primary on June 4, former longtime Councilman Dennis M. Maher, former Councilwoman June Dungee, and newcomer Raya Arbiol ran on the Middlesex County Democratic slate against Kim Castagne, Justin Meyer and Sam Ferraro on the Old Bridge Democrats for Good Government slate.
Dungee garnered the most votes with 1,484, Maher followed with 1,425 votes and Arbiol received 1,380 votes to win the primary. Castagne garnered 757 votes, Meyer received 691 votes and Ferraro received 651 votes in their losing council seat bids.
The Republican incumbents ran unopposed in the primary. Greenberg-Belli registered 1,171 votes, Walker received 1,170 votes and Sohor recorded 1,128 votes.
