For a third straight year, the Edison Recreation Department is partnering with current and former NFL players to offer the “Scoop and Score” Youth Football Camp, an innovative one-day football camp, that teaches youngsters ages 6–18 skills they can use on the playing field and in everyday life.
Among the participating NFL players on June 24 will be former Giants cornerback Brandon Bing, Tennessee Titans tight end Anthony Firsker, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rod Streater, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Leonte Carroo and Evan Rodriguez, former Chicago Bears tight end.
Jersey City native Steve “Speedy” Gonzalez, former wide receiver for Dallas Vigilantes, who now operates Lethal Speed, will provide performance training drills to youngsters.
The Scoop and Score football camp will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 24 at Edison High School, 50 Boulevard of the Eagles, Edison. The cost is $25 per child. Participants receive a camp T-shirt and lunch. Youngsters should wear comfortable clothing and cleats or sneakers.
