FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – Municipal officials are appropriating $2.68 million to be used for capital improvements in Freehold Township.
During a recent meeting, Township Committee members adopted a bond ordinance that will authorize the improvements. According to the ordinance, bonds or notes will finance all of the costs.
Of the planned improvements, $1.99 million will be appropriated for improvements to the municipal water system. The remaining $691,000 will be used for improvements to the municipal sewer system.
In other business, the committee renewed a shared services agreement with the Freehold Regional High School District through which Freehold Township will continue to provide licensed water treatment plant operations to Colts Neck High School, one of the district’s schools.
Committee members also authorized a $9,750 increase in a contract that was awarded to A.C. Shultes for the rehabilitation of well No. 7 and well No. 10. The change order will increase the original $137,050 contract to $146,800, according to a resolution.
And, committee members appropriated $80,000 from the water and sewer utility capital improvement fund for improvements to the Joysan Terrace pump station mixer and the Gully Road pump station.
Finally, committee members renewed liquor licenses for businesses and organizations in Freehold Township from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.
Liquor licenses were renewed for Chefs International Inc. (Moore’s Inn/Escondido Mexican Restaurant), consumption license; Freehold Township Liquors Inc. (Max’s Beer, Wine and Liquor), distribution license; GPLR LLC (Radisson Hotel of Freehold), consumption license; Saker ShopRites Inc. (ShopRite Liquors and Wines of Freehold), distribution license.
Also, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro Inc. (P.F. Chang’s China Bistro), consumption license; Raintree Liquors Inc. (Max’s Beer, Wine and Liquor), distribution license; Brinker Freehold Inc. (Chili’s Grill & Bar), consumption license; Tommy’s Freehold LLC (Tommy’s Tavern + Tap), consumption license; Ruby Tuesday Inc. (Ruby Tuesday), consumption license; Cheesecake Factory Restaurants Inc. (Cheesecake Factory), consumption license.
And, Rare Hospitality International Inc. (Longhorn Steakhouse), consumption license; Foodfirst Global Restaurants Inc. (Brio Tuscan Grille), consumption license with broad package privilege; iPlay America LLC (Game Time Bar and Grill), consumption license; LVV Corporation (South Gate Manor), consumption license; Veterans of Foreign War Post 4374 Freehold (VFW Post 4374), club license; and Sam’s East Inc. (Sam’s Club No. 6671), distribution license.
A separate resolution was passed by the Township Committee to renew the liquor license of Freehold Liquor, LLC, consumption pocket license.
