Maurice Ellis Ingber, 88

Maurice Ellis Ingber, loving husband, father, brother, uncle, Papa, and great grandfather, passed away on June 30, 2019, at the age of 88.

Maury was born on March 14, 1931 in Trenton, NJ to Lazar and Jean (Zelmanovitz) Ingber. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Bucknell University in 1952, and took graduate courses at Hahnemann Medical College, Rutgers – The State University, and New York University School of Law. He had a distinguished 31 year career at Bristol-Myers Squibb in Quality Control, Drug Regulatory Affairs and Worldwide Safety and Surveillance.

Maury served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, retiring as a Lieutenant. He married Jessie Sandra Goldstein in 1957 and they raised three children, Lawrence, Rachel and Laura.

Maury took on numerous leadership roles as President of Beth El Synagogue in East Windsor, NJ, President of the Douglass College (Rutgers University) Parents Association, Cubmaster of the Webelos Pack in Hightstown, NJ and President of both the Pine Grove Manor Cooperative Apartments in Franklin Township, NJ and the Boca Chase Community in Boca Raton, FL.

He was known for his kind and compassionate spirit, his commitment to Jewish values and his love for his family and friends.

Maury was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife of 50 years Jessie, and his sister Sylvia Pollak. He is survived by his children, Lawrence (Dania), Rachel (Ira Port), Laura (Robert Butcher), his brother Jack, his adoring grandsons Logan Aaron and Kyle Jesse Butcher, four step-grandchildren, six step-great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service was held in Boca Raton, Florida.
