EAST BRUNSWICK–The Township Council introduced an ordinance amending the township code to implement “no stopping or standing” policy for parking on Helena Street and Donna Drive.
Drivers are not allowed to stop or stand in their vehicles from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on school days only on both sides of Helena Street from 900 feet north from Flagler Street. Drivers are also not allowed to stop or stand in their vehicles from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on school days only on both sides of the entire length of Donna Drive, according to the council agenda.
The location is near Chittick Elementary School.
Council President Sterley Stanley said this has been an ongoing request for the last two years and the residents in the area have been informed about the new potential parking restrictions.
The council introduced and approved the ordinance, which if adopted will amend the township code and new parking restrictions, on July 22. The second and final reading for this ordinance is scheduled for Aug. 12.
