This letter is being written in response to a recent letter to the editor from Ray Kalainikas. As the wife of a veteran, and veterans who actively served and gave their lives for our country, my flag will continue to fly every day, proudly.
We have homeless veterans and children in this country who need help, yet I still fly my flag.
Two administrations told people not to make that dangerous trip (to the United States border), especially with children. They had a choice. We need to know who those children belong to for their safety, too.
Besides so many other problems – diseases, drugs, gangs – we are a giving and generous country. Don’t cross illegally.
Maybe instead of telling us to take down our flags, you could go to the border and volunteer your time to help out, since you feel differently. I’m flying my flag.
